I spotted this girl at a bookstore the other day while she was looking through different fashion glossies. What I liked about her outfit was how effortless it looked, but at the same time very “put together” – an over-sized denim shirt, a pair of 3/4-length tights worn with black ballerina flats and the hair put up in a chignon – simple and cute.

Things have been a little busy lately, but I promised Mark I would post an update to show off some recent loot. Last week Eger started their summer sale. A friend and I went to look and ended up getting a couple of things.

Awais and I love greys… c5c5c5 is type of grey on web colours. Therefore, my third Resort SS2011 collection would go to another Wang—-Ms Vera Wang. Ms Wang is usually famous for her bespoke wedding dresses, but this Resort 2011 collection is indeed refreshing. Grey, Black and White are carefully sculpted and molded together. I particularly love the new shape of combos—–an asymmetric-hem corset with slouchy jodhpur crops.
Apart from the greys, other highlights of colours and prints are also very thoughtful. Pops of purple feels very new. It’s definitely a good idea for wearing light greys in the summer time, I might dig in my wardrobe and see what I can find for an experiment.

I’ve heard so many people talking about ‘the lovely church street’ around Stoke Newington and now finally I’m living in the neighborhood. A girlfriend and I was looking for a late lunch place and then we landed in this magical mint colour tea house. It’s a mother-and-daughter’s business and simply named as ‘Tea House’.

Beautiful displays…

They have recently expanded their business to next door, so here’s a view of the other room. A group of girls were having afternoon tea and as well as fun with their knitting club…how cute?!

…and this is our side. Where we were sitting was right next to the window on a round table.

…we do need the space of 4 although we were 2, because we were ordering lots of things…Robois tea, Cappuccino, Quiche with Salad, home-made creamy pea soup and bread scone, Cheese Macaroni with Salad… …loose leaf Robois tea tastes so much better than the tea-bag version, highly recommend.

For your information of ‘the Tea Room’, please click here.

I’m really in love with this fresh mint colour, and later of the day, I saw this Balenciaga little number to be carefully cherished inside a glass box in Selfridges. I hope you’re loving it too?

In the past 4 seasons, Alexander Wang has been showing his collection in a routine of Summer in Casual and Winter in Tailoring. For Resort 2011, his collection seems quite different from previous, therefore, it took me a little while to LOVE it.

First of all, a very re-freshing colour palatte. Neutrals, White, and White are actually becoming quite feminine with the blocks of Maroon added in. Styling wise is very ‘cutting edge’ for Wang as he mixed both casual and tailoring together. There’re tailored shorts and suits carried on from previously AW10 ‘Wall Street’ theme collection. There’re still signature pieces of super sheered jersey-knit dress, slouched chunky knits and cycling shorts.

Again, I’m totally in love with all the layering and different hemlines. I was never a fan of Maroon as it always looks too formal and old aged, however, this time I actually can’t wait to wear that lovely Maroon which became never too casual nor too serious!! Fun to see how Wang changed a colour’s personality!!

I have been settling in lovely Stoke Newington for 3 weeks so far and one of my Sunday exercises is getting myself to the nearby Dalston Kingsland mall for food shopping and people watching. Dalston Kingsland shopping centre is a real mix, you get one side full of big black ladies in their colourful traditional dresses and the other side a flood of skinny jeans, ripped, distressed and studded. But it doesn’t mean it’s not a harmony. This vibrant area is such a contrast to West London where I lived in the past 4 and half years, however, it still gives me a warmed-up feeling.
Before entering the mall I spotted this girl in front of me in a pair of chunky heel boots and patchwork sued fring jacket. Leopard pattern chiffon shirt peak out of her jacket sleeves which gives more depth to the outfit. Sheered fabric tones down the hard western feel of the jacket.

Then at fish section inside of the Sainsburys this couple look interesting. The girl’s swing shape trench coat was equally delicious as her tote which is in navy canvas and brown leather. Tabs slightly placed off the shoulder, centre back pleats carefully folded and closed with another 3 tabs, good quality of D-rings—-all of these tell me this must be thoughtful designer piece.

My sight suddenly got lid up when this colourful girl stopped in front of me. Photographic prints on her nylon jacket accompanied with an equally loud printed sporty shorts. The print symphony still carries on with pink leopard tights and nude-aqua pumps. She wins, I favour her look most.

All the clash of prints are carefully mixed together, I couldn’t help but had to break my rule of ‘I love you back’ and asked her for a photo of front.

Turn around to the coffee section, I bumped into this lovely girl with a chain-mail slouch bag, which I was surprised it was actually from Topshop! The whole dark angle-school girl look is very AW10 Proenza Schouler-ish!

Ok…I guess I’m definitely settled in this area now, will you come shopping at Kingland’s Sainsburys too??

On my way to town today I’ve spotted an amazing bag slouched on a girl’s back right in front of me. It’s heavily washed and so comfortably hanged there. I couldn’t help but ask her where she got it. I’m always a no-shyer when comes to a great designed product. She answered in a humble voice ‘Alexander Wang’ —- simple as that. She then told me it’s from 4 seasons ago. I told her I’m a big Wang fan. We exchanged a smile —- I know we understood each other.

Time comes really fast…suddenly it’s all around again, resort collection launch. You might think that I would blog out Wang’s collection first due to my heat love of him and his talent, but NO… …the first collection that I felt I MUST have some voice towards to is Jonathan Saunders.

I’ve loved his AW10 collection back in Feburary (you could have a quick view here.) Digital print theme continues in the resort collection in a more vivid colour way. Absolutely love the mix on hem lengths which provides a broader selection for customers!

So here you go, my first appreciation of Resort 2011, in a feeling of ‘still a lovely lady girl, but definitely not a common english rose’!!

So I’m in Dallas at the moment after having helped my better half move from Houston. Today we went to the Galleria mall here in Dallas. It’s a lot smaller than it’s namesake in Houston, but they did have a few high-end fashion shops – including Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Thomas Pink.

Thomas Pink’s windows are inspired by London. More pics from Thomas Pink and other stores, after the jump.
