About
Fade to…huh?
Grey. #C5C5C5 is the hex code for a shade of grey. The hex-reference in the name is also our way of paying homage to one of our favourite sites, the now closed-down welove.ff017d.com – a fabulous design site dedicated to everything pink. Also, the fade part stands for fashion/art/design/etc – the main focus of this blog. Clever, no?
So, why grey? Visage-fans?
Not really, although we do dig 80′s synth. We just couldn’t find any good song titles that mentioned any of our favourite colours, so we went for grey – since it sounds cool and stuff (or at least we think it does). No way we were gonna call it “ladyin.E3170D.com” or “0000EE-monday.com”
So, who are you guys?
Currently there’s two of us. Qing is a designer and a fashion retail entrepreneur, whilst Awais is a fashion designer-turned-PR-robot and occasional stylist. They both met in fashion school and have been friends ever since.
…and where are you based?
In Oslo and London. We like to travel though, so at times you might find us in places like Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Dallas, Lahore or New York.
Do you have any regular features?
We do indeed. Most of our posts are about things we have seen, bought or like, but occasionally we write regular features too. Some of these regulars include:
- “I love you back” – A lot of fashion blogs, street style ones in particular, always show the front of an outfit. In this feature we show you the “backside” of fashion.
- “Outfits” – like a lot of other fashion bloggers, we like to dress up too. And occasionally we show off our outfits.
- “What’s in your bag?” – The one where we put unsuspecting victims on the spot, grab their bags and go through the contents.
- “Fashion Windows” – A series of posts documenting the fashion windows, displays and visual merchandising of different fashion stores around the world.
- Fashionology – A series for the true fashion geeks, it will have posts about fashion theory and fashion history.
I have an idea for something you could write about…
Great, we’d love to hear from you! For questions or suggestions, please send an email to info [at] c5c5c5 [dot] com
