“I love you back” 23: Feeling Bright

Posted by Qing on April 27, 2011 | No comments

It’s been a while since we posted any photos about ‘love you back’, it’s due to I lost my iPhone and so sneaking photos at someone’s back became a huge mission. After a replacement of iPhone 32G white (as I really don’t like 4G’s square-ish design) and also with helps of London’s good weather, I started to snap people’s back again. So here I spotted a girl in my local Sainsburys (as I mentioned before this Dalston branch is filled with fashionistas). She’s in a grey medium size jumper (not too oversized) and a orange-red-ish midi skirt. Black platform chunky heels finish the whole outfit off, which gives a kick of Wang-esque look.

Then on another visit to V&A to see Yohji Yamamoto’s exhibition, I spotted another girl with an exciting long maxi in red. Nicely pleated….

Details of Alexander Wang AW2011

Posted by Qing on March 29, 2011 | No comments

Luxury is when you look into something, it just becomes more and more and more interesting because there’re so many micro details. And that’s exactly what Alexander Wang is pushing his brand into for AW2011. Mixture of different materials are key…

… …needle punch is a new word I heard for this collection. It is interesting to see how it works in close-ups…

Wang has linked up with jewellry designer Betony Vernon on 2 sterling silver art pieces. For full detail you may view here.

side-open chunky knits and double-sleeves jacket are looking very layered and clever…purple shimmer cigarette trousers adds some perfect high-light to the look, so it’s not too black and dull… …

….love the bronze on black…

feminine sheered shirty blouse toughened up with leather-waistband-zip-decorated military evening trousers…

… …full on sheerness added with a tiny sparkles on cute collars…

….really love the skinny strappy sandals teaming with long cigarette pants, brings back some mid-90s vibe…

…I could see all panels are bagged out, double layered….craft!

Decisions, decisions…

Posted by Qing on March 5, 2011 | No comments

I went to Liberty the other day to try on Alexander Wang’s new SS11 collection. There’s a tent pitched in the middle of 2nd floor with a leather bench inside and a video about Wang’s AW10 show preparation. It was really amazing to see Wang is so into details – detail such as ‘getting rid of the black carpet because it was cheap looking, and instead have the whole floor wet-mopped to add on special atmosphere for the show to match the dark tailoring Wall-Street theme.’

Back to his SS11 collection, this is probably my faourite collection of his up to date. Love all the fresh mint colour and the special pointy texture on knitwear. The baggy shorts are in very draped crepe material, got a decent weight feel for the fabric and super soft and comfortable. Should I get the white longer over-the-knee shorts or fresh mint just-above-the-knee shorts???

Always Nailed the Right Ones!

Posted by Qing on February 23, 2011 | One comment

For this Spring Summer season cool hot boy Alexander Wang couldn’t nail a more right personality for his Alexander Wang T line, Diplo, an american DJ/producer/song-write/ex-boyfriend of M.I.A. but now one half of Si-Fi DJ animation character Major Lazer. He is cocky, witty and as energetic as Wang. Diplo is a super star within his industry. Alex has always got some super cool music going on his show and his website. Therefore, choosing a DJ for his campaign is a natural instinct of decision to create a bigger trend wave. So guys, ready to shop Alexander Wang T line? I am!

I am A Robot

JJ. Weekend Market in Bangkok is a great place to visit. It’s in the north of Bangkok and close to ‘Mo Chit Station’ on Skytrain line system. Here you could not only spot all cheap fake branded goods, but also a great deal of Thai traditional decorations…apart from all those, there’re also a big handful of local designers displaying their original creativity. ‘Robot’ is just one of those creative kids.

All robots are hand-made wood, hand painted with those amusing expressions…

They’re often attached with mini airplanes or googlee eyes or flowers…

…ranges are from table lamps to key rings to hanging necklace… prices are varied from 50 baht for a key ring, or 80 baht for a necklace…

‘Robot’ is located at JJ Weekend Market, SECTION 23 SOI 32/3, ADDRESS NO.128

Here’re the 2 brain children behind all…contact them via email: pusaned@hotmail.com

Sweet Pai – 2

Posted by Qing on January 30, 2011 | No comments

Second day in Pai…I rented a bike to browse around…

…the river side is very peaceful…cross a bamboo-made small bridge you will reach to a resort side, a slightly more costed resort side…around £70-130 per night.

…local people really have an artistic taste to decorate their open lounge…

….interesting plant…

…local family’s rooster…you often see them on Thai television channel in those ‘rooster fight’ programs…

….this is a long stair way uphill to a temple…total 388 steps…

…the gate at the temple is protected by ceramic dragons…

…goodbye sweet Pai…

Sweet Pai – 1

Pai is a little northern town in Thailand closer to the Burma and Thailand border. It is about 3 hours mini bus ride from ChiangMai up north. The road up the mountain is very snaky, therefore an empty stomach is normally suggested before boarding the mini bus. It is a very small tiny hippie-ish town where you feel absolute peace, but still don’t feel disconnected with outside world as Free Wifi is everywhere in most of guest house. I could see myself hiding here for 2-3 months having a mind cleansing.

on the way to Pai

Pai has only a few streets in town which you could count with one hand….

…famous northern Thai dish Kao Soi….yellow egg noodles with deep fried egg noodles soaked inside a long stewed beef soup which is very creamy with coconut milk and curry paste….the beef is simply melting in your mouth….

we were laughing at this mini ‘Grand Canyon’ which the local named it as ‘Pai Canyon’….
