“I love you back” 27: back seduction!

Posted by Qing on August 31, 2011 | No comments

Well…if she wanted attention, she’s got it! A photographer at Central Saint Martins fine art MA show was wearing this bare back dress looking like it’s been unzipped. The dress has a quite complexed tailoring construction around shoulders with folded pleating details to hold the shoulders together. While the red lining peaking through, this definitely means one serious sexy business!

Also spotted another fine lady at Selfridges London my favourite fashion floor 3rd floor Young Fashion channeling a ballerina low back top with high waisted wide leg floaty trousers. What can I say…wow…still strongly believing of what John Galliano said before – back is the most sexy part of a woman!!!

“I love you back” 26: let’s dance charleston!

Posted by Qing on August 18, 2011 | No comments

My friend Jenny’s hen night was a smashing hit – that’s no doubt!  Volupté, a bar / restaurant / theatre carefully tucked in behind Chancery Lane station. There’s a vintage bar on ground floor. You could casually chat with friends or glance at the black & white silence movie showing, while the bar tenders are preparing you cocktails from their huge selection. But most excitement of the night was a few steps down, you are drawn back to the 20s / 30s night club with people carefully dressed to the era and dancing passionately to the charleston beats!

I adore her cropped top with a split back teamed with voluminous pleated ankle pants. Her perfect swift dance movement caught every single attention.

A perfect outfit for ‘I Love You Back’… very 20s glamour.

“I love you back” 25: What Else – has to be a Wang!

Been to Selfridges London sales recently and spotted a shop assistant, whose styling tip needs to be taken note here. The high waist black trousers is of course by Alexander Wang, nicely fitted and with a tight mesh corset waistband inserted from the inside. Love the nicely layered Ts – outside layer T is actually a Selfridges uniform T.

“I love you back” 23: Feeling Bright

Posted by Qing on April 27, 2011 | No comments

It’s been a while since we posted any photos about ‘love you back’, it’s due to I lost my iPhone and so sneaking photos at someone’s back became a huge mission. After a replacement of iPhone 32G white (as I really don’t like 4G’s square-ish design) and also with helps of London’s good weather, I started to snap people’s back again. So here I spotted a girl in my local Sainsburys (as I mentioned before this Dalston branch is filled with fashionistas). She’s in a grey medium size jumper (not too oversized) and a orange-red-ish midi skirt. Black platform chunky heels finish the whole outfit off, which gives a kick of Wang-esque look.

Then on another visit to V&A to see Yohji Yamamoto’s exhibition, I spotted another girl with an exciting long maxi in red. Nicely pleated….

“I love you back” 22: Standing out from the crowd

Spring is in the air in Oslo and people are slowly starting to shed the layers of thick padded winter coats. Yesterday I saw these two guys walking by the National Theatre. What caught my eye at first were the metallic grey trousers the guy on the right was wearing. In a country where most men wear either blue jeans or black trousers, wearing anything slightly different will make you stand out in the crowd. The second thing I noticed was how the guy on the left was wearing his chinos, tucked into his socks, which were visible because he was wearing ankle boots. A simple, but very cool detail.

“I love you back” 19: camel coat

Posted by Qing on October 10, 2010 | No comments

As mentioned in previous posts, camel is the biggest and strongest colour of this season, but I’m slowly starting to feel tired of seeing it everywhere. As I was thinking about how it could be made to look new and fresh, I spotted two girls with their own take on one of the biggest trends of this season.

These two girls make a great combo together. The whole colour palette feels slightly unusual with colours like beige and caramel combined with nutty chocolate brown and forest green. The palette is quite different to the caramel and earthy red combos I’ve seen everywhere on the high street and in magazine editorials lately.

Then there’s this girl. Her light camel coat is so beautifully cut. The shade of camel is very feminine . However, with help of neutral light grey and navy, she has added a bit more masculin and boyish colour tones that balance everything out.

“I love you back” 18: In God We Trust

Right this time, ‘I Love You Back’ is myself! I have been interested in trying out some layering experiment, particularly legging-shorter-than-skirt kind of layer. So I’ve put this outfit together. Sorry break the rule to start with the front view first…haha

So that’s H&M denim mens shirt / Topshop mesh pencil skirt / black lace cycling shorts / MM6 washed canvas jacket / Topshop Unique Wooden Wedge. The jacket is in a great super washed charcoal grey colour and turn around it’s even more exciting at back.

Shortly after I worn the jacket to office, my colleague  found another design from a different brand. I think ‘In God We Trust’ sounds much newer phrase, don’t you?
