People in East London know this bar very well, but for those who are not in East London, this bar is a great place to meet up with people for beers, cocktails and brilliant true Italian pizzas. They do sometimes change their art-displays from time to time and recently it’s this psychedelic print. The wallpaper looks insane while you get different images when you filter out other layers by using the different colour filters hanging at the side walls. So go wild and get drunk!!

My friend Jenny’s hen night was a smashing hit – that’s no doubt! Volupté, a bar / restaurant / theatre carefully tucked in behind Chancery Lane station. There’s a vintage bar on ground floor. You could casually chat with friends or glance at the black & white silence movie showing, while the bar tenders are preparing you cocktails from their huge selection. But most excitement of the night was a few steps down, you are drawn back to the 20s / 30s night club with people carefully dressed to the era and dancing passionately to the charleston beats!

I adore her cropped top with a split back teamed with voluminous pleated ankle pants. Her perfect swift dance movement caught every single attention.

A perfect outfit for ‘I Love You Back’… very 20s glamour.

JJ. Weekend Market in Bangkok is a great place to visit. It’s in the north of Bangkok and close to ‘Mo Chit Station’ on Skytrain line system. Here you could not only spot all cheap fake branded goods, but also a great deal of Thai traditional decorations…apart from all those, there’re also a big handful of local designers displaying their original creativity. ‘Robot’ is just one of those creative kids.

All robots are hand-made wood, hand painted with those amusing expressions…

They’re often attached with mini airplanes or googlee eyes or flowers…

…ranges are from table lamps to key rings to hanging necklace… prices are varied from 50 baht for a key ring, or 80 baht for a necklace…

‘Robot’ is located at JJ Weekend Market, SECTION 23 SOI 32/3, ADDRESS NO.128

Here’re the 2 brain children behind all…contact them via email: pusaned@hotmail.com

Second day in Pai…I rented a bike to browse around…

…the river side is very peaceful…cross a bamboo-made small bridge you will reach to a resort side, a slightly more costed resort side…around £70-130 per night.

…local people really have an artistic taste to decorate their open lounge…

….interesting plant…

…local family’s rooster…you often see them on Thai television channel in those ‘rooster fight’ programs…

….this is a long stair way uphill to a temple…total 388 steps…

…the gate at the temple is protected by ceramic dragons…

…goodbye sweet Pai…

Pai is a little northern town in Thailand closer to the Burma and Thailand border. It is about 3 hours mini bus ride from ChiangMai up north. The road up the mountain is very snaky, therefore an empty stomach is normally suggested before boarding the mini bus. It is a very small tiny hippie-ish town where you feel absolute peace, but still don’t feel disconnected with outside world as Free Wifi is everywhere in most of guest house. I could see myself hiding here for 2-3 months having a mind cleansing.

on the way to Pai

Pai has only a few streets in town which you could count with one hand….

…famous northern Thai dish Kao Soi….yellow egg noodles with deep fried egg noodles soaked inside a long stewed beef soup which is very creamy with coconut milk and curry paste….the beef is simply melting in your mouth….

we were laughing at this mini ‘Grand Canyon’ which the local named it as ‘Pai Canyon’….

Siam Square in Bangkok is not really a big empty square. In fact it is filled with tiny shops, boutiques, restaurants and massage places. Walking around all the Soi (which means road in Thai) you may discover some rather original design boutiques. I’ve been lucky to find this one called ‘rosaniyom’.

The front gate is a rusty iron gate…

First look at the cashier desk, you would think it’s a vintage store….but this little boutique is not only about the vintage style.

Its designer clearly loves ‘vintage girlie style’….lace is quite a dominant material not only in making in those clothes, but as well in decorating the boutique….

…different weights and patterns of lace and printed chiffon are main materials….

the abstract feather print is used in various garments, like in this scollop edge sheered vest… Styles are rather neutral instead of girlie girlie….there’re baggy dusty pink T-shirt printed with vintage ink sketched wolf, lace short sleeve boxy crop shirt, crochet long line boyfriend cardi, sheered chiffon black maxi….

….forest animals are also a main theme within its current season…owls, wolfs and deers…they all have a quite vintage ink print feeling….

following scarf print is a perfect example to reflex designer’s thoughts….shame it was printed on a smaller scale of scarf which is 60 x 60cm. If it were bigger, I would have purchased it. It was printed with very clear quality on sheered polyester chiffon.

Broderie Angleise tote is so cute with raw tan leather handles….

….near the front gate where the scarves are draped, there was this little stuffed deer standing, draped with pearl chain necklace…

For your information, ‘rotsaniyom’ at Siam Square Soi 5, nearest station is Siam Square on SkyTrain line. They also have a stall at Jatujak Weekkend Market Section 2, every Saturday and Sunday.

Continue with my ’20 for 35′ plan…..here’re photos for Day 2 & 3.
Day 2 in Thailand I was still in Bangkok. Woke up super late after lunch time, my day 2 route was>>>>river side>>>>boat riding>>>>Wat Pho sleeping buddha>>>> Mo Chi bus station to get my tickets to ChiangMai on Sunday>>>>back to hotel to change>>>>taxi to Kao San for a Drum n Base night…..super tired.

1 x oversized chunky stripe male vest (navy & white)
1 x thin stripe tube skirt (blue & black)
1 x silver Havaiana flipflop
So I had to take it very easy for day 3. Long sleep till after lunch hour again, then I rushed to MBK shopping centre to get my mobile unlock>>>>got a Thai sim card>>>>went to Siam Square>>>>so many creative boutiques which I have to report in a separate blog>>>>2 hours massage>>>>drink with friends

1 x oversized white vintage shirt
1 x sand colour shorts
1 x silver Havaiana flipflop

Ok…so my departure outfit is as below,
1 x sage colour fine rib long line T
1 x silver printed boxy jumper
1 x black fine rib legging
1 x leopard print scarf
1 x bronze Converse
1 x LeSportSac black patent rucksack

For day 1 in BKK, pffffff……it was such a long day. I got up very early around 5am and finished all emails and breakfast, I headed to Eranwan Shrine to pray (a Buddha with 4 faces), then wandered to Jim Thompson Museum (an american ex Navy introduced Thai Silk to the world in 20s and 30s, his carefully designed Thai home is turned into a museum), then Grand Palace (where the Kind doesn’t live), then Lucky Temple (a very small temple where I met a local Thai and chatted for ages), Marble Temple (beautifully all in white marble), Jewel EXPO (a place they were pushing me to purchase jewels), meeting a friend at a top-floor bar in the evening then headed to a restaurant called ‘Cabbages & Condoms‘ (a very cool restaurant gives you a condom at the end of meal instead of dessert) ….then to another cool bar called ‘Iron Fairy’ (a little bar fully in blacksmith decoration, they also have a very very secretive smoke room which you have to search the door on a bookshelf)….
Because of the Grand Palace and Temple visiting for my day 1, I read it somewhere that you have to covered up properly, so my Day 1 outfit is as below,
1 x black racer back vest
1 x black long tube maxi skirt
1 x leopard print scarf
1 x silver long chain necklace
1 x silver Havaiana flipflop
1 x LeSportSac black patent rucksack
