Liu Wen 刘雯 – Estee Lauder New 2011 Ad

Posted by Qing on December 7, 2010 | No comments

My favourite Chinese model Liu Wen has got many honor under her belt, first Asian model to walk Victoria’s Secret, first Chinese model within top 10 world model chart, and of course the very first Asian model for Estee Lauder. She explained a while ago about her relationship with Estee Lauder is like a lovers’ dating relationship, both got passion for each other and both getting to learn each other. This is quite a sweet way to describe. So all of us have been waiting for the ‘gossip’ of their first date and here, finally, comes the details out…first imageries of Liu Wen for Estee Lauder.

Winter Boots

Posted by Qing on November 24, 2010 | No comments

All right, I have purchased 2 winter boots at beginning of October but I didn’t confess here. With friends’ recent questions about what kind of boots to shop, I thought I should bring them out to share the love.

Ankle Zip Black Boots by Pied A Terre. Chunky heel, a bit of rock n roll feeling. It’s perfect with skinny jeans, easy to walk with, and handy to toughen up some slightly ‘too-pretty’ outfits.

Paul by Paul Smith smart ankle boots caught my eyes, because I was looking for some all-time-investment smarties, that would be perfect with some sequin dress as shown in below image with super chinese model Liu Wen. The boots are in super butter-soft calf skin and got a platform, so it’s super easy to walk in them.

模界大姐大 刘雯 Liu Wen

Posted by Qing on September 9, 2010 | No comments

My favourite 2 oriental personalities in fashion world, one is everyone knows…Alexander Wang, and the other one is Liu Wen, whom I have introduced in previous post. Liu Wen is at the moment the number 1 model not only in China but the hottest oriental model. Here Grazia China had invited her as their cover girl and did a full interview with herself and her family and friends.

Must say, a good model should have a face easily transformed into any look, but at the same time has strong facial features without being flooded and buried under layers of make-ups and hairs. Liu Wen is exactly that type, so does Kate Moss and Cindy Crawford.

Here it says, Liu Wen is not just a famous model, she has become a true celebrity.

With her mum and dad… In the interview, her parents described her as a quiet teenage, shy but strong…

I really love this look…the hair, the eye-shadow and the cropped top…

Model Scene – Liu Wen 刘雯 is HOT!

Posted by Qing on April 12, 2010 | One comment

As I was doing a research on all oriental designers and models, my attention is getting more and more locked on this girl. Yes, I don’t want to have any fuss on this entry’s title and just want to make it clear that the hottest model in my mind at the moment is Liu Wen from China.

First time noticing her was from Alexander Wang’s Pre-Fall 2010 collection photos from Style.com. Then she appeared every single city during AW2010 fashion week and walked for over 70 shows, I start to like her more and more.

In 2009, Liu Wen became the first woman of East Asian descent to walk the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. And I only just recognized her recently in Alexander McQueen’s SS10 show ‘Plato’s Atlantis’.

I think a good model with strong feature would not be covered completely unrecognizable with tons of make-up and hairs. For example Kate Moss, no matter what look she’s been styled on, you could always tell ‘that’s her!’ and Liu Wen is no doubtfully same.

Personally really like this 60s China Red Guard look created for Alexander Wang’s SS10 campaign. She actually looks very sweet there.

She casually brings out the boyish sexiness.

…and could also be full of strength in this i-D editorial December 2009…

…but you can not label her for just being a tomboy…

…although she’s already really good at layering pieces and rocking the DMs.
